A surveillance video showed Afet following Tuori into her home to commit the robbery and murder, according to Spectrum News.

Police believed that Afet took Trori’s keys and started to live in the apartment after the murder, FrontPageDetectives previously reported.

Afet has a lengthy criminal history, including the robbery of another person in the same apartment complex. The killer could only say a few words to the victim’s family as she recently stood in a courtroom for sentencing.

“I would like to apologize to the family of Connie Tuori,” Afet said, according to WSTM.

Tuori’s nephew, Tom, spoke for the family during the sentencing. He said they never want to see Afet back on the streets.

“No one here today and not even Ms. Afet knows the horror and intense suffering that consumed Connie’s last few minutes of life,” Tom Tuori said, according to WSTM. “But we need to consider those last few minutes to try and understand the impact on Connie. I hope, and my family hopes that Ms. Afet is haunted by those last few minutes of our aunt’s life.
