RESIDENTS OF FCT COMMUNITY FLEE AS OVER 100 BANDITS ABDUCT MANY, KILL AND STEAL OVER 30 MOTORCYCLES
Residents of Adagba community in Yaba Ward of Abaji Area council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have fled their homes after bandit terrorists went on rampage, abducted many residents, stole, killed and destroyed property.
Among the confirmed abducted victims are Aisha Lawal, Mustapha Lawal, Ali Patchi, Idris Bala and Jamilu Yahya, while a 23 year old man, Nura Mai Gyada, was killed and 36 motorcycles were stolen.
This is coming barely one week after the bandits invaded the community and abducted a shopkeeper, Chinedu Arinze.
A resident of the the area identified as Garba Shehu said the bandits numbering over 100 with sophiscated weapons invaded the community around at night on Saturday.
The terrorists were said to have divided themselves into groups, and moved from house to house while shooting into the air.
A resident of the community said that the assailants destroyed property and made away with motorcycles, other valuables and cash.
The community’s traditional ruler, the Etsu Yaba, HRH, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, while reacting to the incident, said that the region was prone to bandits’ attacks because it shared borders with Niger state, which is currently facing incessant attacks by the terrorists.
Police authorities and FCT officials had yet to comment on the development at the time of filing this report.
