Despicable Me 4 Release Date Set For July 2024: What We Know So Far

After three critically acclaimed films and a prequel that earned a significant amount of money from Minions fans, Universal’s Despicable Me animated franchise continues to run as smoothly as a nefarious moon-shrinking ray of light. The release of Despicable Me 4 in summer 2024 is therefore one of the most anticipated films of the year, ranking alongside The Avengers and The Hunger Games. While it will be a long time before the film is released, the latest trailer and everything else we know about it should be enough to keep fans entertained.

Despicable Me 4 Release Date: officially confirmed

Despicable Me 4 will be released on July 23, 2024, according to Illumination and Universal Studios, who have announced the official release date. This is the 15th time that the two companies have worked together on a project. At this time, no information about the plot has been released.

A new Despicable Me movie has been announced, marking the first since the announcement of a July release date for another Illumination film, Minions: The Rise of Gru, in April. As a prequel to other well-known Despicable Me films, the film is expected to focus on twelve-year-old Gru in the 1970s as he strives to be the best villain he can possibly be.

A reformed struggling supervillain named Gru is followed as he becomes a reluctant father of three, a husband, and a secret agent, and eventually teams up with his long-lost brother, Dru, to fight against an unreformed super villain together in the Despicable Me franchise. Despite the fact that the original film was released in 2010, it has maintained a large fan base that has lasted twelve years, thanks in part to internet memes.

Despicable Me 4 Cast

Chris Renaud, who previously directed Despicable Me 3 and The Secret Life of Pets with Patrick Delage, will return to direct Despicable Me 4. Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Miranda Cosgrove, and Steve Coogan will all reprise their roles as the film’s voice actors. Chris Meledandri, the founder of Illumination, is producing the project, which has a script written by Mike White, who is best known for his work on School of Rock and the critically acclaimed HBO series White Lotus. The Despicable Me franchise, which is centered on Gru (Carell), the world’s greatest supervillain, began in 2010 and has since expanded to include two Minions spinoffs, the most recent of which is Minions: The Rise of Gru, which will be released on July 1. The franchise has performed exceptionally well at the box office, with multiple installments of the series exceeding the $1 billion mark at the box office.

Despicable Me 4 Plot

The Minions, a group of loud and chaotic yellow tic tacs who have existed since the beginning of time to serve evil geniuses such as Gru, are arguably the most recognizable characters in the series. They are the most recognizable characters in the series. The Minions have spawned two spin-off films of their own, including a film about their origin story as well as a sequel that explains how they come to work for Gru and how he begins his journey to become the supervillain he longs to be, as previously mentioned in Minions: The Rise of Gru – you can never really get away from the obnoxious little sidekicks.

Several spin-offs of the film series have been released since its inception, including several video games and a theme park attraction. Since then, the franchise has grown to become the most successful animated franchise of all time, grossing billions of dollars in worldwide box office receipts. Looking forward, it will be interesting to see what Illumination and Universal have in store for this series in the future.
