After three critically acclaimed films and a prequel that earned a significant amount of money from Minions fans, Universal’s Despicable Me animated franchise continues to run as smoothly as a nefarious moon-shrinking ray of light. The release of Despicable Me 4 in summer 2024 is therefore one of the most anticipated films of the year, ranking alongside The Avengers and The Hunger Games. While it will be a long time before the film is released, the latest trailer and everything else we know about it should be enough to keep fans entertained.

Despicable Me 4 Release Date: officially confirmed

Despicable Me 4 will be released on July 23, 2024, according to Illumination and Universal Studios, who have announced the official release date. This is the 15th time that the two companies have worked together on a project. At this time, no information about the plot has been released.

A new Despicable Me movie has been announced, marking the first since the announcement of a July release date for another Illumination film, Minions: The Rise of Gru, in April. As a prequel to other well-known Despicable Me films, the film is expected to focus on twelve-year-old Gru in the 1970s as he strives to be the best villain he can possibly be.

A reformed struggling supervillain named Gru is followed as he becomes a reluctant father of three, a husband, and a secret agent, and eventually teams up with his long-lost brother, Dru, to fight against an unreformed super villain together in the Despicable Me franchise. Despite the fact that the original film was released in 2010, it has maintained a large fan base that has lasted twelve years, thanks in part to internet memes.
